30 weeks!

I know I'm not doing a very good job at keeping up on my blog. But I just want to share the excitement I have right now that I only have 10 weeks left! I know it's still a ways away, but it seems like time has gone by so fast and I don't feel ready or prepared at all for baby McKinlee to
come! Some days I wish she was here already but other days I'm glad I still have time to get everything ready! Hoping the next 10 weeks go by fast!

Forgiveness

I recently have just finished reading the book "Let It Go" By Chris Williams. It was such an inspiring story and got me thinking about a lot of things in my life and things I have gone through. The book is his story of how him and his family got hit by a teenage drunk driver and his wife, unborn child, and two of his four children were killed instantly and how he forgave the teenage driver immediately. Me, personally, I dont think I would be able to forgive someone so quickly as he did if I had gone through something like that. I guess we are all giving different trials for different reasons. Here is the link to the youtube video about his story: http://youtu.be/E7zwQ_7q-fU I recommend watching this and reading his book, if you havent already. It may just help you like it has helped me!

I just want to finish saying how thankful I am for my husband and all he does for me and our future and our soon to be baby! He is the most amazing thing that has happened to me! Couldnt ask for a better husband! And i'm also grateful for the many trials I have gone through my life to help me get to where I am today.

Mary Kay!

Saturday I had a Mary Kay party with a few friends out here in Vernal. My Mary Kay consultant, Tammy, drove all the way out here from Herriman. I was so happy to finally get "pammered" during this pregnancy! Tammy did an amazing job at her job showing the products and giving us awesome facials! Because I have such an amazing consultant and after talking to Tim, I have decided to start my own little Mary Kay business and sell the product and do parties! I will be getting my kit soon and having my first party in December! I cant wait to see how this goes and have an opportunity to make a little extra cash and help others out as well. I know its going to be a challange but I am ready for this awesome opportunity to start my own business. And hey, if it works out I can be a stay at home mom and finish my schooling without any problems! :) So, if you want some Mary Kay product or want to do a party let me know and I will help you out! :)

Bed rest ;(

Well, I'm now on bed rest starting today for the next 10 days. It all started last night when I was sitting down and moved and felt a sharp pain on my right side of my stomach. I wasn't sure what it was so I called my aunt who is a nurse since all the doctor offices here were closed and I didn't want to go to the ER. This morning the pain was still there and was a little worse, so I called my doctors office to see what was going on. They sent me to labor and delivery. While there they took a urine sample and did some blood tests checking for kidney infections or any sort of infection. They monitored the baby to make sure I wasn't contracting and make sure the baby was alright. My little girl is doing great! Me, I have a super bad sprained/pulled ligament on my right side. I'm not allowed to work, work out, lift anything, pretty much can't do anything for the next 10 days but sit or lay down. If it doesn't get any better in the next 10 days, I'm going to be out on permanent bed rest until the baby comes. Hopefully it gets better ASAP!

Dessert! :)

Made my VERY FIRST homemade cheesecake EVER!!! I was so proud of myself! Tim didnt help me at all, (which he usually helps with every meal or dessert we make). It was super easy and SOOO delicious! I had to share the recipe with everyone!!!

Chocolate Turtle Cheesecake
24 chocolate sandwich cookies, ground (about 2 3/4 cups), (I used an already made oreo pie crust, tasted just as good.)
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup sour cream
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup prepared caramel sauce
1/2 cup prepared fudge sauce
1/2 cup pecan halves

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. (If making own crust) Combine ground cookies and butter in medium bowl; pat evenly on bottom and 1 inch up side of 9-inch springform pan. Place in freezer while preparing filling.

2. Beat cream cheese in large bowl with electric mixer until fluffy. Beat in sugar, sour cream, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Pour mixture into prepared crust.

3. Bake cheesecake 30 to 35 minutes or until almost set in center. Cool on wire rack. Refrigerate, loosely cover, 8 hours or overnight.

4. Remove side of springform pan from cheesecake; place on serving plate. Drizzle caramel and fudge sauces over cake; cut cake into wedges. Top each serving with 2 to 3 pecan halves.
                                          Makes 12 servings

What mine looked like :)

What the cookbook pic looks like :)

Mine obviously wasnt as pretty as the cookbook picture but im sure it tasted just the same. All I can say is that it was DELICIOUS! Now ENJOY!

Recipe :)

Well....I made dinner last night and its really sad to say....but 6 months of marriage and this was the first one Tim actually LOVED!!!!! Thought I would share the recipe with all of you since it really was a delicious dinner and would recommend it to anyone!

Pork Chops in Creamy Garlic Sauce
1 cup fat-free reduced-sodium chicken broth
1/4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed (I just used already minced garlic in the can)
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
4 boneless pork loin chops, about 1/4 inch thick each
1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon tarragon (i couldnt find it so I replaced this and the dry sherry with Italian seasoning)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon dry sherry
2 cups cooked white rice

1. Place broth and garlic in small saucepan, Bring to a boil over high heat. Cover; reduce heat to low. Simmer 25 to 30 minutes or until garlic mashes easily with fork. Set aside to cool. Puree in blender or food processor until smooth.

2. Heat olive oil in large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add pork; cook 1 to 1 1/2 minutes on each side or until browned. Pour garlic puree into skillet. Sprinkle with parsley, tarragon, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil; cover. Reduce heat to low; simmer 10 to 15 minutes or until pork is juicy and barely pink in center. Remove pork from skillet; keep warm.

3. Combine water and flour in small cup. Slowly pour flour mixture into skillet; bring to a boil. Cook and still until mixture thickens. Stir in sherry. Pour sauce over pork and rice. Garnish as desired.
                                        Makes 4 servings

Well, I hope you all enjoy this delicious meal if you try it! :)

Now my mom will have two grandsons and two granddaughters, since Dayna is having a girl in December! :) As soon as I found out, of course I wanted to go buy an outfit already! Tim wasnt so happy that I wanted to start buying things now. But I talked him into letting me buy the baby its first outfit! :) It's going to be a lot different having a girl since I'm used to having boys around. But it is going to be so much fun! Now if only February would come faster!!!!

21st Birthday!

Today is my 21st birthday! I thought turning 21 would be a lot more fun or cooler than it really is. This past weekend my mom, bailee, grandma huber, and nephew hunter came up for the day on Sunday to spend it with me for my birthday. They brought me presents and new clothes that actually fit me! My mom took me and Tim and everyone else out to Wingers for my birthday dinner. It was a lot of fun being able to spend time with some of my family out here in Vernal. I was happy they came out and celebrated my birthday with me since I had to work today and spending the evening alone since Tim is working. I've had a really nice birthday and appreciate all the birthday wishes from everyone on facebook, texting me, and in person. Its been a great day!!

New car!!!!! :)

Tim and I just bought a new car today!!!! I am so excited! We have been talking about getting a new car when the baby comes so we have something bigger to travel in with the baby and Max. A kid I work with posted saying he was selling his car. As soon as I saw that I told Tim and he agreed we could get it! We immediately put my old car on KSL and Tim went to the bank and got a loan to buy the new car. We got a 2008 Jeep Commander. I am so excited and relieved that we were able to find a car for a good price finally!
Our new car! :)

Wisconsin Trip

Recently Tim and I went to Wisconsin to visit his family and for our new niece and nephews baby blessings. It was so much fun seeing everyone and meeting Andrew and Peyton for the first time. We left August 29 and drove straight through....it took us 26 hours to get there. It was a fun and boring drive. When we got there we just relaxed and watched some TV with the family. Friday, we got to meet our niece and nephew. Eric and Jamie came over with Peyton then we went on a walk with them and Sarah and Andrew. It was a lot of fun seeing the park and Huntington Beach with the fall leaves. Saturday we went to the Zoo with the whole family. We saw jellyfish, kangaroos, tigers, bears, lions, cows, hippos, seals, and many more awesome animals. After 6 hours at the Zoo (it was a very, very big zoo) we went back home and took a nap and just watched movies and relaxed at home. Sunday, we got up early for Andrew's baby blessing and then drove about an hour to Milwaukee to Peyton's blessing. Tim was so happy he was able to stand in the circle and be there for both the blessings. After we went home and ate some delicious dinner and played games. Monday, Tim and his brothers went golfing, while I stayed back at home and did pedicures with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law Carolyn. Later that day we went to Huntington Beach for a bonfire/BBQ. Finally Tuesday came and it was time to go home. We waited until everyone was home from work and school so we could say bye to everyone. That night we stayed in Des Moines, IA hoping if we got a good nights rest we could make it back without stopping.....we were wrong. We made it to Sidney, Nebraska and finally decided after talking about it for 30 mins that we needed to spend the night in Laramie, WY. I called my work and explained to them the situation and they were fine with it. Then Thursday morning got up and left for a 6 hour drive back home....when we got home I had to go into work and help close. LONGEST day EVER! SO glad we were able to go to Wisconsin and glad I was able to spend time with my in laws and get to know everyone much better. It was a fun time and cant wait to go back for Christmas.

The tiger we saw

The jellyfish

and the cute kangaroo.

Baby Wenzel update

Well....we still have no idea what we are having. I had my "BIG" ultrasound the other day to see if we could find out what we are having and so Tim could see the baby (since he hasnt been able to come to the doc appointments or utltrasounds.) He loved seeing our little baby move and made it so much more real to him. The ultrasound tech at first said it was a girl, then we saw something that made it look like a boy but wasnt sure if it was just the umbilical cord or if it was actually a boy! The tech said its a 70/30 chance right now. He is leaning more towards a girl. So as of right now we have no idea if its going to be McKinlee Kay Wenzel or Porter Allyn Wenzel. I just hope the baby cooperates at my next ultrasound in a few weeks.

Morning sickness

Well I can finally say my morning sickness is going away! It's such a relief being able to do fun things with Tim and be able to go to work without feeling sick all the time! Now hopefully it stays this way for the rest of my pregnancy!

Baby Wenzel

Tim and I are so excited to announce that we are expecting a baby in February 2013. We cant wait until the little bundle of joy comes! :) It was a huge surprise to us since we not expecting to have a baby until we were married for at least a year. But we are just so excited now! Everything happens for a reason ;) We dont know what we are having yet since I'm only 11 weeks right now. Tim is hoping for a boy and i'm hoping for a girl...but I'd be fine with either one.

Family Time

This past weekend Tim and I were able to go to West Jordan to visit my family. We had a great time! We went up on Thursday night. Friday we went shopping with Dayna, my mom and nephews, bought me a Kindle Touch, and went to Seven Peaks with my whole family. It was a lot of fun! Then later that night we did fireworks at my parents house. Saturday Tim went fishing with my dad, Bryan and Bryans family. Then we went to dinner at Olive Garden and went to a movie. Sunday we went to church and had a BBQ at Daynas house then went home. It was great to be able to spend time with my family with Tim there. This was the first time he has seen them since the wedding. I loved it! :) Cant wait until we go visit them again sometime soon!

Inspiration: Allie Wadsworth

I have a friend who has inspired me to be a better person in life. We haven't been the best of friends or even really close, but I still consider her a good friend. She has a 7th month old baby that was born at 1lb 4oz. She is such a great mom! I dont know anyone stronger than Allie. She has been through so much and is still willing to reach out and help others. I havent seen her or heard her complain about her hard times. She is a big role model to everyone! I just want Allie to know how much I look up to her! She is such an amazing mom and such an amazing person! Allie, dont listen to anything anyone says! You're an amazing women and Ivy is so lucky to have you as a mom! And Casey is lucky to have you in his life as well. Keep pursuing your dreams for you and Ivy! Love you Allie!!!

Family friends :)

One other thing I forgot to mention, we had my good family friend Larry Hill stay with us from Wednesday to Friday. I havent seen him since I was in the 9th grade. It was so nice to see him and catch us and spend some time together. He came all the way out from Washington state to visit my family in West Jordan first then came out to Vernal to look for a job and visit Tim and I. It was a great week to have him here with us. Miss Larry and his wife Joy a lot! I hope I can go visit them one of these days.

Larry and I when I was in 9th grade.

Great weekend :)

Well, its Tim's week off and this weekend we were able to spend some time together just us.

Saturday we just hung out at home for a little bit, relaxed, cleaned the house, and then later that evening we went up to the flaming gorge area and went on a walk with max near a little fishing lake. It was beautiful and so peaceful. I love going on walks with my little family.
Here is us at the fishing lake.

Today (Sunday) we went to church, which is the the 3rd time we've gone together since we've been married. It was nice. Met some new people and just enjoyed the spirit there all together. After we just relaxed, made hamburgers for dinner, then went to the walking park with max and took an afternoon Sunday stroll.
On our way to the walking park :)

I love spending time with Tim! Cant wait to have more fun weekends together :)

Mothers Day

This past weekend I wasn't planning on going out to Salt Lake to visit my mom for mothers day due to Tim's work schedule. He got called out to work Saturday morning so I decided to surprise my mom for mothers day by going out there without her knowing. It was probably the BEST mothers day present I could give her. This was a much better mothers day then last year and I am SOOOO grateful for my mom and everything she has done for me my whole life and especially this past year. She has been such a great example in my life and has always been there for me no matter what! I was so happy I was able to see her for mothers day this year.
I LOVE YOU MOM!!!!!!

And to my mother in law Cheryl, I just want you to know how much I love you as well! I know we don't live close and barely see each other, but I just want to say how much I appreciate you! You are such a wonderful women and I love that you take time to call me and see how things are going in my life. I cant wait to start making great memories with you throughout the years. Hope to see you soon! Love you!

I have the privilege to be the daughter/daughter in law to the most wonderful women in the world! I couldn't have asked for anyone better. They are the BEST!

The most IMPORTANT thing in my life....FAMILY!

I just want to tell everyone how much I LOVE my family and how grateful I am for them! I dont know what I would do without them. Even though they live 3 hours away from me, they still take the time to talk to me by phone, text or over facebook just to see how I am doing. It sucks not being able to see my parents whenever I want or go see my nephews anytime I want, but it just makes the time I do get to see them more valuable and I makes me appreciate the time I get with them more.

Bailee, I just want you to know how much I love you! You are the bestest little sister anyone could ask for. I miss hanging out with you and talking about your boy problems with you. I am so proud of you for not letting anyone tear you down in high school. You are a great example to everyone!

Dayna, I just want you to know how much I love you as well! You are such a great mom and such a great example to me! I look up to you a lot and respect you a lot! I hope I am as great of a mom as you when I start a family. Also, I am proud of you for getting your associates degree online while tending 3 or more kids plus your own. You have motivated me to get my schooling done as soon as possible!

Bryan, just want you to know I love you too! You're the coolest brother in law EVER! Thanks for always being there for me and looking out for me like a big brother! It means A LOT to me! Thanks for making my sister super happy and loving her! You're the BEST!

Mom, I love you more then you will ever know! I never tell you enough how much I look up to you and appreciate everything you do for me. You are the greatest mom in the whole world! Thank you for always believing in me when I didnt even believe in myself. Thanks for always having hope and faith in me. Without you I dont know if I would be where I am today. Thank you!

Dad, I love you! You're my greatest hero! I love how close we are! Thank you for always being there for me when I needed it the most. Thanks for loving me and accepting me even when I make mistakes. Thank you for believing in me as well. You're the best dad anyone could ask for! I LOVE YOU!

Hunter and Bridger, even though you cant read this, I want you both to know how much I love you. You boys are my best friends in the whole wide world. I just want you both to know how much your smiles, hugs, kisses, laughs and just personalities make me happy and make me feel loved. You are the sweetest little boys ever! I love you so much!

Tim, I just want you to know you are the most amazing husband in the whole world! Thank you for helping me get back on track and get to where I am today. Thank you for loving me even though I can be a pain. Thank you for always sticking by my side when no one else did. Thank you for making me the happiest girl alive! Thank you for caring for me and always being there for me when I need it most. Thank you for everything you do for me! And thank you for giving me a new amazing family!

As you all can tell, I love my family more than anything! I miss them more than anything! And hope to see them soon!!!!

Pretty much I am just a happy girl right now and grateful for a lot in my life.

Thank you Mikell Gordon for all of your wonderful blog posts that give me great ideas and inspire me!

Kinda sad...

Well.....its been 2 1/2 weeks since we got married and since I moved out to Vernal. I miss my family and friends and being able to hang out with them whenever I want. I have gone back to Salt Lake to visit them twice and thats still not enough. I am super close with my family and it SUCKS not being able to just go to my sisters house and hang out with my nephews whenever I want. BUT, I am super happy here with my amazing husband! On the plus side.....I start my new job on May 7th! I cant wait to finally start working and get out of this house! I am SO sick of being home all the time! It's driving me CRAZY! I dont know anyone out here yet and its super boring when Tim is at work. I am going to be going back to school in the fall as well so that will help out A LOT! Trying to keep myself busy! Well....thats my rant for the day! :)

Max

We have a new addition to the Wenzel family. His name is Max is he is 8 weeks old.

He is so much fun but a pain! He is an Old English Bulldog. We love him to death! He keeps me company while Tim is away at work.
He LOVES car rides!
And he loves to sit on Tim's lap and watch him play Halo.
Potty training is a pain but he is doing really good! I love just cuddling with the little guy! Tim gets jealous that I get to spend more time with him then he does.

In LOVE

Well everyone....WE DID IT!!! Tim and I got married/sealed on April 14, 2012 in the Bountiful Temple. It was such a beautiful day considering it rained all week/weekend. We are so blessed to have such great family and friends who came and supported us on our BIG day! We had our luncheon at Archibalds at Gardner Village with just our immediate family and afterwards had a beautiful reception at our church. We loved seeing all our family and friends at the reception who we haven't seen in a while. After it was over we went to Park City for two nights. We got massages, relaxed, went to dinner and just had a great time enjoying each others company. It was great! We are now in Vernal, Ut and finally have all our stuff put away and stuff together. I love our little home! I will post pictures or the wedding soon and pictures of our home when I get some! :)

New Puppy :)

Tim and I are getting a new puppy on April 21. I went and saw him yesterday and he is the cutest little thing ever! He is an Old English Bulldog and his name will be Maximus. Tim is so excited to be getting him, its like its Christmas to him! I am excited as well to be having someone to keep me company while Tim is gone out on jobs. We already love the little guy and don't even have him yet!

SO HAPPY!!!

My grandparents returned home from their mission on April 1, 2012! I am so happy they are home! They were serving in the Jacksonville, Florida Naval Base mission. They were gone one year. Tim has not met them yet but they are super excited to meet him and he is excited to meet them. It is still really weird to me to have a conversation with them in person and not over skype anymore but I am so glad I can see them whenever now!

Here they are :)
The above picture is a little blurry but best friends have been reunited at last! My grandpa loves his cat Birdie and Birdie loves grandpa. He never goes near anyone and once my grandpa walked in Birdie went right up to him as if he has seen him everyday the past year. My grandpa was so happy!

Tim and I are so excited to say that we finally have a place to live in Vernal, UT! It has taken us since November to find a place but I am so glad we did! We will be living in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom mobile home that has a nice but small yard.  I am so excited to be able to plant flowers in our cute little yard and fix up our little home to our liking! Cant wait to move out there to be with Tim! :)

Tonsils :( & 4 weeks!

Well....I got my tonsils out on the 8th of March. It was the worst thing ever! Im still recovering from it a week later. All I have been able to eat is applesauce, ice cream, popsicles, soup and oatmeal. I have tried eating solid foods but it seems to make my throat a whole lot worse. My parents are probably sick of me constantly asking them to get me more popsicles and medicine and complaining about the pain. Well only 4 more weeks and then it will be Tim listening to me complain about things ;) I cant wait! I still cant believe only one more month until I marry my best friend!!! :)

Mainly kitchen stuff, like glass cooking pans, measuring cups, cookie sheets, muffin tin, crock pots, plates and bowls set, and blankets! I am so excited to have my other showers in March! I am super excited to marry my best friend as well!
